"We never had a company lay sod before so our experience with such is limited. But between both our lives of 80+ years we are familiar with work detail. This company was responsive to our inquiries with regard to the start of the work. Through no fault of their own there were delays with the sod acquisition that precluded them from beginning work in a timely manner so that was not held against them. We assume as soon as they knew the sod was available we knew so that was a big bonus. Big because we did the yard preparation ourselves and needed to know when to do certain steps.
That preparation included killing the existing grass that was left. Removing some of the old dirt to replace with organic rich loam to help with water retention. Our lawn was cut with a bagging lawn mower for 10 years so it was time to reinfuse the lawn with rich soil. This was to ensure the new sod had a way to access moisture rich spots on the lawn to help the roots take hold. We also redid the ground space around the tree, removed a smaller tree, and redid the garden. Also, to ensure the new sod did not get eaten alive we treated the soil with bug killer. We also tilled and leveled the lawn. The rain that occurred leading up to the sod application was a big bonus as it highlighted the spots on the lawn that were uneven before sod application.All of this was able to be scheduled because of the responsiveness of the company. Also, when the company said they were going to show, they showed as scheduled on May 29, 2020.
There are certainly ways to be critical of any work, but through this companies efforts and ours we got our desired end result for the price that worked for us. This company gets five stars because they provided the exact service that we needed. Someone to be responsive, on time and of great value. Thank you for making our front yard look ten years younger. I feel like I just moved in again!"
